Gold Coast Academy of Sport (GCAS)

"Golden opportunities through sport"

The office of the Gold Coast Academy of Sport is located at the Carrara Sports Stadium Complex, corner of Nerang-Broadbeach Road, Carrara.

The GCAS currently offers a total of 10 high performance sporting programs including Golf, Future Stars (north Gold Coast), Football (soccer), Triathlon, Rugby League, Future Stars (south Gold Coast) Volleyball (Indoor), Beach Volleyball, Basketball and Table Tennis.

These programs provide not only 'on-field' development opportunities for athletes, but also focus on personal development of young athletes to 'provide golden opportunities' to create better citizens within the local community.

The GCAS is the first independent regional academy of sport in Queensland and is an academy partner of the Central Coast Academy of Sport, a member of the Regional Academy of Sport (RAS) network of 11 regional academies of sport within NSW. Regional academies of sport have also been established in Victoria and Western Australia to provide additional oportunities in sport in around 20 regions of Australia.

The GCAS receives funding from the Gold Coast City Council/Business GC, but is not purely a city council funded organisation. A wide variety of other highly valued corporate organisations support the operations of the academy allowing it to function.

The GCAS relies on the support of all of its major business partners, community partners and the sponsors aligned to each of the sporting programs on offer to provide "golden opportunities through sport" for around 200 athletes, coaches and administrators.
